5 in stick bait
Wacky-rigged, it shimmies all the way down. Texas-rigged, it's the bait you throw when nothing else is working.
7 in worm
A long ribbon tail that swims on the lightest lift. Drag it on a Carolina rig through deep grass in summer.
4 in craw
Flapping claws on a fat body. A jig trailer or a flipping bait, with orange-tipped claws for when they're keyed on crawfish.
3.8 in swimbait
A boot tail that kicks at any speed. Rig it on a jighead for open water or weedless to swim it through the grass.
3 in ned bait
Buoyant plastic that stands its tail up on a mushroom head. The bait you throw when the bite gets tough.
4.2 in creature bait
Compact body with big flappers. Made to punch through matted grass and glide down into the shade.
From plastisol to package
Every bait starts as clear plastisol in a pot on the bench. Five stations later it's bagged, and the batch number on the pack tells you which tray it came from.
Heat the plastisol to 350°F and stir until it turns from milky to clear.
Add the color, the flake, and the salt. The mix decides the sink rate and how the bait fishes.
Hand-pour into aluminum molds. A slow, steady pour keeps the bubbles out of the tails.
Cool, de-mold, and let the baits rest flat so they hold their shape in the bag.
Garlic or crawfish scent, then counted into packs by hand and stamped with the batch.
The color chart
Any color on any bait. These are the standing colors on the shelf; send a photo of your forage and we'll pour a match.
Field notes
“The Wheeler Stick on a wacky rig saved a slow day on Champlain. That shimmy on the fall is unreal, and the salt keeps them holding on.”
“Punched the Punch Bug through matted grass all summer. It glides into the shade and they eat it on the drop every time.”
